The Novice AA Gryphons fell just short in their pursuit of a Tri County Championship as they dropped a 3-2 decision to the Burlington Eagles in the series deciding Game 5 on Wednesday night.

In a thrilling, wide open, back and forth game,  The Burlington Eagles denied the Guelph AA Novice Gryphons a chance to clinch the Tri County Championship with a 6-5 overtime victory in Game 4.  The Eagles win sets up a winner take all deciding Game 5 this Wednesday evening in Guelph.

The Novice AA Gryphons scored a goal in each period on their way to a 3-1 victory over the Burlington Eagles in Game 3 of the AA Tri County Final on Wednesday evening. The game was a very close, tight checking affair between two very evenly matched teams.

The Novice AA Gryphons exploded for five goals in the third period on route to a 6-1 victory over the Burlington Eagles in Game 2 of the Novice AA Tri County Final.  With the victory, the Gryphons have evened up the best of five series at one game apiece.

Despite a healthy advantage in shots, the Novice AA Gryphons were done in by dynamite goaltending en route to a 3-1 loss to the Burlington Eagles in Game 1 of the Novice AA Tri County Finals.

Despite losing 5-4 to the Oakville Rangers on Thursday night,  the Novice AA Gryphons are off to the Tri County finals based upon their 5-1 record in round robin action.  The Gryphons clinched their spot in the finals Tuesday night when Flamborough handed Oakville their second loss of the round robin.
