Novice AA Sweep Home and Home With Thunder
Coming off a 5-1 victory in Georgetown on Monday night, the Novice AA Gryphons repeated themselves with a 6-1 victory over the Halton Hills Thunder on Thursday night to sweep the home and home series.
On Monday, the Gryphons responded to a sluggish start with a five goal outburst in the second period to take the victory. Kurtis Abbey was outstanding in the Guelph net during the first period to keep the game close before the Gryphs found their skating legs.
On Thursday, Guelph jumped to a 3-0 lead in the first period and never looked back. Alessandro Gruosso was steady in the Gryphon net, turning aside 14 shots with excellent rebound control.
