Guelph’s Novice AA boys began their regular
season schedule on Saturday with a convincing 9 – 0 win over the Brampton 45s.
Guelph’s offense was spread throughout their lineup as Luca R (2), Auguste T, Gage T, Greg F, Lucas S, Nathan M, Nicco S and Evan P all tallied on the night.
Overshadowed by the Gryphon’s offensive explosion was the solid play of net minder Tyson MB. Tyson impressed in the win, earning the first complete game shutout of his young career.
However, the most impressive part of the Gryphon effort was their team play and selfless decision-making. The Gryphons moved the puck from team mate to team mate with great precision and finesse. Leading the way in this regard was Evan P, Tyson D, Parker W, Ryan M, Wyatt M, Nicco S, Greg F, Avery S and Auguste T.
The Gryphons continued their fine play on Monday night in Halton Hills. Nicco S found the back of the net to get things started for the Gryphons, and Gage T, Auguste T and Wyatt M followed up with tallies of their own. For their effort, the boys earned a solid 4 – 0 win.
Congratulations to Finn P whose excellent play in the Gryphon net earned him his first ever complete game shutout.
Again, the Gryphon’s balanced attack was on account of impressive selfless decision-making all over the ice. Players Greg F, Luca R, Tyson D, Parker W, Colin C and Nicco S were leaders in this regard, showing off several great passing plays and a team-first attitude.
The season continues on Saturday afternoon when the Gryphons host the Orangeville Flyers.
