HEAD COACH, 2025/26 Guelph Jr. Gryphons U15AAA
TIM PRIAMO
I am an excellent communicator who believes the role of a coach is to assist each player in maximizing their potential, and value the benefits of professionalism.
Tim Priamo is well known in the Guelph hockey community, and we are enthusiastic to announce him as our U15 AAA Head Coach for the 2025/26 hockey season. A native of Guelph and graduate of Guelph Minor Hockey, Priamo enjoyed a 4 year OHL career, 3 of which saw him wear our hometown, Guelph Storm jersey.
Post OHL, Priamo remained in Guelph, swapping his Guelph Storm jersey for a Guelph Gryphons one, joining the University of Guelph Gryphons for 2 seasons. After a season in the ECHL, Priamo then went on to play 2 seasons for the University of New Brunswick, winning a national championship with the perennial Canadian University powerhouse.
Priamo has been coaching hockey in various capacities for 18 years, and has been behind the bench at the U13, U14, U15 and U16 age groups at the AAA level in previous seasons. In the 2019/20 season, Priamo was the U15AAA coach- a squad that finished in fourth place in the SCTA (OMHA West) in the regular season. That team had six members selected in the 2021 OHL draft- those players’ also benefited from Priamo’s leadership in their COVID-altered OHL draft year. Priamo has also worked in several settings within GMHA as a development coach; he co-led our 2020/21 skills development programming at several elite levels throughout GMHA, and has worked as a member of our GMHA development team.
His most recent position in the local hockey scene was with the Elmira Sugar Kings of the GOJHL, where he was the General Manager and Director of Hockey Operations in the 2023/24 season. He was the architect behind a second place GOJHL Midwestern conference regular season finish for the team that season. Priamo currently works in the real estate field, and has launched a wearable on-ice camera that allows players to review their on-ice decisions. With open arms we welcome Priamo back to GMHA, and look forward to his guidance and leadership at the helm of the 2011 age group.
