I am a development-focused coach who strives to prepare each individual as a player and person for the rigors of junior hockey.

GMHA is excited to welcome Scott Biser and Scott Stewart as the Coaches for our U16AAA team. With their deep passion for player development and extensive experience, they are ready to lead the team to new levels of success. Scott Biser- Coach Returning for his second year at the helm of the 2010 age group, Scott Biser is eager to lead this talented group of players through their pivotal OHL draft year. A native of London Ont., Scott’s hockey journey began as a standout four-year Junior B player before he made an impressive leap directly from junior hockey to the professional ranks. His career took him overseas, where he enjoyed a successful seven-year stint in Switzerland, playing for EHC  Visp and HC Ajoie. After returning home, Scott transitioned from playing to coaching, first serving as an assistant coach with a Junior C team. Since joining GMHA in 2012, he has become a fixture in the organization, contributing his expertise to everything from U6 Skills Development to coaching at the U16 level. His extensive experience, paired with his Coach Development 1 and High Performance 1 certifications, reflects his deep commitment to the growth of young athletes both on and off the ice. In addition to his coaching role, Scott serves as a Detective with the Guelph Police Service, further demonstrating his dedication to his community. His leadership both on and off the ice makes him an invaluable asset to the GMHA and an inspiring role model for the next generation of hockey players.

Scott Stewart is a highly experienced and dedicated hockey coach with over 15 years of coaching experience in both Ontario and British Columbia. His passion for player development and deep understanding of the game have made him a trusted mentor for young athletes looking to take their skills to the next level.

A true student of the game, Stewart has built strong connections throughout the hockey world, including coaches, scouts, player development experts, advisors and team owners. His ability to identify talent, create personalized development plans, and guide players on their pathway to future success in the game has helped many young athletes move closer to achieving their hockey aspirations.

Beyond on-ice development, Stewart is committed to helping players build life skills that extend outside of hockey. He believes in developing well-rounded athletes who not only excel in the game but also carry the lessons learned through hockey into their personal and future professional lives.

Looking ahead, Coaches Biser and Stewart are eager to lead the revamped U16AAA program with a focus on a holistic approach to the game. Their vision is to foster the development of each player, not only as an athlete but also as an individual, preparing them for success at every stage of their hockey journey.


Special Teams Coach
BRIAN WILLSIE

Brian Willsie joins the U16AAA staff as a Special Teams Coach. Brian Willsie’s journey to become a Stanley Cup Champion with the Colorado Avalanche, embodies dedication and mentorship. From Belmont, Ontario, Willsie began honing his skills early on, winning a Junior B title with St. Thomas, alongside Joe Thornton, before joining the Guelph Storm, and twice appearing in the Memorial Cup. Drafted by the Colorado Avalanche, Willsie’s 17-year pro career saw him play over 1,100 games.

Currently, the Director of Player Development of the Colorado Avalanche, Willsie guides prospects toward their NHL dreams, overseeing their on-ice skills, off-ice training, and mental preparation. He oversees all of Colorado’s draft picks and prospects in his current role. Willsie’s expertise proved invaluable in 2022 when the Avalanche hoisted the Stanley Cup, a testament to his development work.

He eagerly anticipates working with the U16 AAA players in the 2025-26 season, sharing his knowledge and inspiring the next generation of hockey players. His blend of big-league experience and small-town values makes him a true asset to the hockey community.


Player Consultant
CAM STEWART

Cam Stewart joins the U16AAA staff as the Player Consultant. Cam is a certified NHL Agent following a 10 year professional playing career in the NHL, AHL and IHL. Cam also has management and coaching experience as the front office Advisor for the Minnesota Wild, Assistant Coach and Advisor to the president (Calder Cup winners) and Head Coach and Assistant GM with the Toronto Buzzers of the former Provincial Junior Hockey League. Growing up locally in Conestogo, Cam is always willing to give back to the game. His insight into every aspect of the game of hockey will be invaluable to these young hockey players.
