HEAD COACH, 2025/26 Guelph Jr. Gryphons U16AA
SEAN STAFFORD
I develop individuals and skilled players by fostering team-first atmospheres that prioritize individual excellence, life skills, accountability, and respect.
As a dedicated coach with extensive experience developing young athletes, Sean Stafford has been a fixture with GMHA for several years. Stafford has been the coach of the 2010-born Guelph Jr. Gryphons since 2021, and has led various other Gryphons teams; including Minor Atom A (U10) and Novice AE (U9). A highlight of his 2024/25 season with the U15 AA Guelph Jr. Gryphons, is their appearance in the finals at the CAN/AM challenge in Montreal.
As an intermediate elementary school teacher, he has a long history coaching a wide variety of youth sports and remains active in the Guelph sports community at-large. An alumni himself of Guelph Minor Hockey, Stafford is a strong believer in the GMHA Player Development Model and emphasizes open communication and team transparency. He is passionate about fostering a love for the game and developing well-rounded individuals both on and off the ice. During Stafford’s playing days, he played Junior A and Junior B for local teams.
