KINGSTON BOUND!
On Sunday evening, the Guelph Gryphons U11 AAA team clinched a spot at the 2025 OMHA AAA Championships in Kingston with a thrilling 2-1 overtime victory over the visiting Niagara North Stars.
They were cheered on by an amazing crowd at the West End Rec Centre consisting of friends, family, teammates from other sports, and other Gryphons. Sunday’s game was the 6th and final game of the Gryphons’ round robin playoffs and their 5th game in a row that ended in overtime. The team finished the playoffs without a regulation loss.
The Gryphons return to OMHAs for the 2nd straight year after a successful regular season. They finished with a record of 19-9-6 which earned them the 2-seed for the playoffs. They were joined in their playoff group by the Southern Tier Admirals, Grey Bruce Highlanders and the previously mentioned Stars.
The OMHA Championships for U11 AAA are at the INVISTA Centre in Kingston and run from March 28-30. The Gryphons’ group consists of their OMHA West rival Hamilton Steel, the Central Ontario Wolves and defending champion Quinte Red Devils.
