Minor Bantam, 2016-2017, U12 (Guelph Minor Hockey Association)

Our MBAE team was invited to practice with the Guelph Storm Coaches and players on March 11th as part of the prize for winning the Coach4Food Challenge this year. The Storm Coaches ran a great practice and pushed our boys to rise to the challenge.  The team enjoyed learning from the pros and worked hard while having fun! A special thank you to the Guelph Storm Coaches, players and Stephanie, the Guelph Storm Community Co-ordinator for making this a memorable practice for the boys!

The MBAE Gryphons and the Guelph Storm team up with Coach4Food for another successful year-raising over 6000lbs of food for our community! Our team was invited to be guests at the Storm Game on March 10th!  We were honoured to participate and be the leading Gryphon team again this year!!  Well done everyone!

Guelph Minor Bantam AE Team wins 50th annual Hespeler Olympic Rep Tournament!   Over the Christmas holidays, the Guelph Gryphons Minor Bantam AE team participated in the 50th annual Hespeler Olympic Rep Tournament.  The Gryphons finishing second in the round robin behind Northumberland who narrowly beat them 1-0 in a close battle. Guelph then faced Milton in the semi-final, winning the game handily 5-2.  This set up a re-match with Northumberland in the final.  The Gryphons jumped out to a 1-0 lead on their very first shift of the game and due to a amazing team effort never looked back. ...

Our Minor Bantam AE players are Coach4Food Champions!    Way to go Gryphons!  The team will be invited to practice with the Guelph Storm Coaches @ The Sleeman centre in the new year. Together we raised over 6936lbs of food for our Community! Well done Gryphs!

Thank you Todd @The Hockey Shop for generously supporting our Christmas Skills Competition! The players had a great time preparing for Play downs and loved the prizes!

Congratulations Gryphons on a fantastic regular season.  You players have come together into a cohesive unit that cares about each other, your community and playing for what's on the front of your jersey, not yourself.  The enthusiasm shown during the Coach4Food drive was very commendable.  Your very low 40 goals against in 28 games shows a great team commitment and resulted in a +56 goal differential. i wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a much deserved rest!
