Atom AA Even Up Tri County Final With Game 2 Victory
After dropping a tough 3-2 decision in Game 1 on Thursday evening the Atom AA's traveled to Burlington for Game 2 in the best of five Tri County Final.   In a chippy affair, the Gryphons stepped up and persevered for a hard fought 3-2 victory to even up the series at one game apiece.

Both teams battled thru a scoreless first period.   2:10 into the second, the Gryphons got on the board first when Noah Savery directed a shot on goal and Landon Mitchell dug the puck out of the scrum in front to put Guelph up 1-0.  Burlington responded four minutes later with a tying goal but with 4:39 left in the second, Ozzie Johnson banged in a rebound to put Guelph back in front by a score of 2-1.  Logan Biser and Olan Norton drew assists on the play.  The score would remain 2-1 in favour of Guelph after two periods of play.

Burlington once again tied the game with 8:33 left.  However, with 3:30 remaining,  Landon Mitchell banged in a loose puck while down on his knees for the eventual game winner.  Ryder Burns assisted on the play.  Things got exciting with 2:06 left when Guelph drew two penalties to play the last two minutes of the game two men short.   With the Burlington goalie pulled, the Guelph penalty killers rose to the occasion and held the Eagles back despite the 6 on 3 disadvantage.   The final buzzer sounded and Guelph celebrated their victory.

With the series now tied, Game 3 returns to Guelph this Thursday night.  Game time is 6:30 at Victoria Road.
