by Bill Johnson After a couple of tough losses, 3 – 1 to Waterloo (Guelph goalscorer – Johnson) and 7 – 1 to Kitchener (Guelph goalscorer – Marshall), the Gryphons bounced back with their best effort of the season, grounding the Cambridge Hawks 2-1 at Centennial Arena on Monday night.

By Bill Johnson The Atom Select Gryphons hosted the Kitchener Rangers on Tuesday night at Centennial Arena and the Rangers did not play the role of the polite guests.  The Rangers struck early and often with the final score being 10-0 in favor of the Kitchener team.  While the home team never gave up and worked hard, the visiting Rangers used their size, speed and skill to defeat the Gryphons. The Rangers battled hard for the majority of the pucks and capitalized on their chances, despite several great saves from the Gryphon netminders Eyers and Kurt. It was a chilly Tuesday night when our Atom Select Gryphons challenged the Oakville Rangers at 6:30pm in Oakville.  Our Gryphons battled well for the puck throughout the game but the Rangers’ speed and strong defence led them to a 6-0 victory.

By Bill Johnson The Atom Select Gryphons travelled down the 401 to play the Woodstock Navy Vets on Sunday afternoon and stringed together several strong passing plays to deliver a rewarding result.

By Bill Johnson The Atom Select Gryphons played an early game on Tuesday with a 5:15pm start at the Cambridge Hawks.  The game started evenly with both teams creating opportunities to score, with the first significant chance going to the Hawks, as one of their forwards broke in on a breakaway at the 7:30 mark, but Ryan Kurt was up to the challenge and confidently turned the shot away.
