Great Experience for Peewee A Guelph Gryphons in Lake Placid earning Silver
After a slow start to the regular season we headed to Lake Placid with a fresh start in mind..... and a fresh start we got!

Going 3-0-1 in the round robin and outscoring our opponents 25-3. That put us in first place and gave us a birth in the Gold Medal Game. This pitted our Gryphon's against the Jr. Coyotes from Scottsdale, Arizona, who we tied in the round robin play.
Our Gryphon's came out flying, battled very hard and went up 2-0 (with some puck luck could have easily been 4-0), but the Jr. Coyotes were a determined group as well and fought back to tie the game. Unfortunately with with 7sec to go in the 3rd period the Jr. Coyotes scored to win.

As part of the Lake Placid experience each team also gets to have some of the players participate in a skills competition (relay race and shootout). We had the boys vote on who they wanted to represent them, and as a team we all went to cheer them on.
Our shooter Daycian Cecato made the semi finals showing some sick mitts!
Our relay team (Gabe Alarie, Ryan Johnston, Josh Moro, Charlie Van Dam) put the pedal to the metal and brought home GOLD for the fastest team in our division!!!!
Congrats also to our goalie Philip Oates on representing Guelph proudly.

What made this weekend even more rewarding were the comments from other coaches, parents and tournament staff on how respectful and well behaved our Gryphon's were.

Congrats to our Peewee A Guelph Gryphon's!
