With 1:27 left in the second period,  Nolan Lodder worked the puck up to Caleb Davison in neutral ice.  Davison stepped over the line, walked around the Wolves defenseman and roofed a high arcing shot from the top of the circles over the goalies shoulder to increase the Guelph lead to 3-0.

Two quick goals in the first five minutes of the third period for Waterloo cut the Guelph lead to 3-2.  But with 5:59 remaining, Guelph added an insurance marker as Connor Laskoski ripped a shot towards the Waterloo goal that was deflected by the shaft of Nolan Lodder's stick into the net to make the final score 4-2.
