The U12A Gryphons would like to formally apologize to anybody living near the West End Rec Center. It was not an earthquake you felt last night around 9p.m., but was in fact an eruption of cheering that may have shook the foundation of your home as the U12A Gryphons won the Tri-County Championship, scoring with only 1:48 remaining in overtime!

Hosting the Owen Sound Jr. Attack in a semi-final game with a ticket to the OMHA championships on the line, the U12A Gryphons showed up! Scoring on the first shift of the game, the Gryphons took control early. Owen Sound, however, would not go away, responding with 2 goals and taking a 2-1 lead into the 2nd.   With a packed house urging them on, the Gryphons responded with 2 goals in the 2nd and held on the rest of the way for a 3-2 win, earning a trip to the Tri-County Championships series and a ticket to the OMHAs in Whitby starting March 29th!

Lake effect snow and Taylor Swift weren’t the only things rolling into Buffalo last weekend! Congratulations to the U12 A Gryphons for creating a storm of awesomeness, putting forward an amazing effort throughout the weekend and capturing gold at the 51st annual Gene Harrington Winter Ice Experience!
