SCOTT HEASMAN

I am a development focused coach, and I’m looking forward to guiding this team to a second season of continued growth.

We are excited to announce Scott Heasman as our returning Head Coach of our U14 AAA Guelph Jr. Gryphons. Heasman is returning for his second season as the AAA Head Coach of our 2012-born Guelph Jr. Gryphon squad; the team saw a marked improvement under his leadership in 2024/25, and are sitting in sixth place in a competitive OMHA West division at press time.

Prior to his time with GMHA, Heasman was at the helm of a very successful Centre Wellington Fusion squad. Over three years of coaching with Centre Wellington, at the AA and A levels, his teams qualified for the OMHA’s each year, and boast two championships. Heasman has spent over a decade in various roles with Centre Wellington Minor Hockey, and was a leader of the Guelph Jr. Gryphons U16 AAA team for the 2009/10 season as an Assistant Coach.

As a player, Heasman enjoyed a five-year OUA career with the University of Toronto and York University, where he won two OUA silver medals with York University in 1997 and 1999. A native of New Liskeard, Ontario, Heasman played AAA as a youth for the New Liskeard Cubs, and has coached countless teams over several sports at the high school level.
