The 2014-born U12 AA Guelph Jr. Gryphons hockey season is coming to a close after this weekend. What a huge accomplishment to be one of eight teams to make it to the OMHA’s competing for the Red Hats at the U12 AA level. It has been an exciting journey for each and every player; good times and bad, this team bonded and grew together.

The team started off slow; midway through the season the Gryphons were 7-6-0 after the first 13 regular season games. And then, something clicked and the Gryphons went on an incredible run. 12-0-1 in the second half of the season, finishing with a record of 19-6-1 which earned them 1st place in regular season Tri-County play.
During the 2025-26 season, the U12 AA Guelph Jr. Gryphons competed in 4 tournaments:
Mary Parkinson Memorial AA Pre-Season (Richmond Hill), Sept 19-21 2025, 2nd Place Finish
Ottawa Capital Fall Classic, Oct 23-26 2025, 2nd Place Finish
Guelph Powerplay Tournament, Nov 21-23 2025, 2nd Place Finish
Georgina Silver Stick, Dec 11-14 2025, Semi Finals

The Gryphons had an exciting playoff run with a record of 7-1 in the Round Robin.
The Gryphons won their Quarter Final Game over Niagara Falls Canucks 7-5 and advanced to the Tri-County semi-finals best 2 of 3 against a tough Burlington Eagles team. In a hard fought series, the Gryphons came out on top winning Game 1 and Game 2 in overtime, both 3-2, and advancing to the league finals against the Glancaster Bombers.
Gryphons were the victors, 2-1, in a hard fast paced game one of the series. Game two was another tight game, with Glancaster successfully beating the Gryphons 4-3. In the third and final game of the series on home ice, the U of G Gold rink was jammed packed with Gryphon fans. Unfortunately, it was not the outcome the Gryphons were looking for; Glancaster defeated the Gryphons 5-1 to win the 2025-26 Tri-County Championship.

What a memorable season it has been for this Gryphons team. New friendships and new memories created that will last a lifetime.
The Gryphons finished with an overall record of 44-19-5.
It's not the end of the road for this Gryphon squad yet! Good luck to the Gryphons in the upcoming OMHA Weekend, held in Whitby, March 27-29 2026.
