Atom AA Move Into First With Rout Over Halton Hills
The Gryphon Atom AA's headed to Georgetown on Tuesday night to take on the Halton Hills Thunder in Tri Couny Round Robin action.   The Gryphons scored early and often with scoring across the line up as they overwhelmed the Thunder by a score of 8-0.  The Gryphons showed great creativity and unselfish play as all three lines worked together to create numerous scoring chances.

The Gryphons jumped out to an early lead.  Just 45 seconds into the contest, Ty Thompson used his strength to overpower a Halton defenseman and work the puck to Oscar Johnson.  Johnson quickly zipped a pass cross-crease to a waiting Olan Norton and Norton cashed in for an early 1-0 lead.   Just 56 seconds later,  Zac McNight spotted an open Logan Biser in front and fed him the puck and Biser went top shelf to increase the lead to 2-0.  With four minutes left in the first,  Logan Biser, Landon Mitchell, and Ryder Burns connected on a beautiful passing play with Burns going upstairs on the Thunder netminder to make the score 3-0 after one period.

With 2:13 left in the second period,  Guelph added to their lead.  Centerman Landon Mitchell won the draw in the Halton Zone directly back to Nathan Schlitt.  Schlitt ripped a shot on net that was stopped but Logan Biser tapped in the rebound and the score was 4-0 after two periods of play.

Early in the third,  Adam Smith fed Logan Biser who worked the puck to Landon Mitchell and Mitchell banged it in to make the score 5-0. Two minutes later,  Noah Milne fed Zac McKnight in the slot and McKnight banked his shot in off a Halton defender and the score was 6-0.    Moments later,  Oscar Johnson controlled the puck in the Thunder zone and fed a pass over to defenseman Max Grimwood.  Grimwood blasted a shot on goal that was tipped by Ty Thompson and the score was 7-0.  With under fived minutes remaining,  Adam Smith fed Logan Biser on a long breakout pass setting up a two on one for Guelph.  Biser sauced a gorgeous pass onto the stick of a waiting Landon Mitchell and Mitchell went bar down to complete the beautiful play.   The tally made the score 8-0.

Ale Gruosso picked up the shutout in goal.

The Gryphons (3-1-0) currently sit in 1st place as they head into Saturday's very important match up in Caledon.
