Gryphons Double Down on Devils
Submitted By Tim Davison on Sunday, September 29, 2019
Sunday night, the Gryphons returned to action in the second half of the home and home with the Erin-Hillsburgh Devils. Once again the Gryphons skated away with a shutout win, this time, the final score was 9-0.

While Kenny Beynon led the way offensively with a four goal effort, the defense stood-out collecting assists on 5 of the goals and stifling the Devils at every turn. Even the opposition’s coach took notice, noting afterwards that “your defense was just awesome.” When the defense slipped, it was Max Heroux, wearing the big pads, who came up big on several occasions, including stopping a breakaway in the final minutes of the game to preserve the shutout.

Scoring Summary:
1. Peyton Smith (Davison, McNamee)
2. Peyton Markwood (Roffel)
3. Owen McNamee (Fletcher)
4. Kenny Beynon (Kusiak)
5. Beynon (Duffy, Byard)
6. Beynon (Byard)
7. Beynon (Byard, Peteranac)
8. Markwood (Taylor)
9. McNamee (Smith)

The Gryphons return to the ice Saturday in Oakville.
