It was a rough ride for both teams but the Gryphons were able to freeze the Avalanche to only one goal thanks to a strong performance from goaltender Lucas MacDonald. Meanwhile the Gryphon's were on the attack posting up 4 goals thanks to forwards Cameron Johnston Hallahan,  James Thomson and Hudson Marshall. Written by Bryan Donelle The Gryphons were in Stoney Creek this weekend in the 18th annual Winterfest tournament.  They played four games in two days and their gameplay improved with every period, winning 2 of 4 games and nearly taking down the top team in their division. They ended up third in their division and unfortunately that wasn't enough to move on to semi finals on Sunday.

Written by Bryan Donelle The Gryhons faced off against the Rosedale Devils tonight at home in Centennial Arena. The Devil's came out strong with two opening goals but were quickly answered with some deaks from Deacon Key and Hudson Marshall (2).  It was a fast paced, back and forth game with some tenacious back checking from the Gryhons who were backing up their goaltender Neil Kasaboski. Neil had an outstanding game holding off the Devil's as Guelph kept pressure on in the third with goals from James Thomson (2) and a last minute game winner from Finn Coulson! I think Gryphon's fans agree ...

The Peewee select Gryphons were on the road last night as they headed to Hamilton to face the Rosedale Devils.   Gryphons forward Hudson Marshall opened the scoring in the first period followed by two more from James Thomson and 1 rebounder for Owen Donelle assisted by Winston Sutherland. Although it was a good effort it  just wasn't enough as the Devil's posted 6 goals for a 6-4 final. 

Written by Bryan Donelle The Peewee Select Gryphons hosted the Woodstock Navy Vets last night at Centennial arena. Woodstock started off the scoring in the first period but Guelph answered in the second with a shot from defenceman Jason Pearson (#4) assisted by Eilan Townsley (#26). 

Written by: Bryan Donelle The Peewee Select were in the Halton Hills Thunder Memorial Tournament this past weekend. They represented Guelph proud and played hard through tightly matched games, but unfortunately did not advance to the final round on Sunday.  The Coaching staff were impressed with the boys determination and team play.  The players and coaches are looking forward to resuming their 5 game winning streak in the regular season as they aim to make it 6 when they host the Woodstock Navy vets at Centennial Arena at 7:30 pm.
