DOES SHORTENING THE BENCH HAVE A PLACE IN MINOR HOCKEY?
Submitted By Rhonda Gatto on Thursday, November 30, 2017
The GMHA agrees that fair ice time for all is critical for player enjoyment and development. Most players would rather PLAY on a losing team then SIT on a winning team.

We feel that the time for playing to win is limited but we do recognize that in competitive hockey there is a time when coaches, players and parents would like to play to win.  With this in mind, GMHA has established a Fair Ice Time (FIT) Policy as set out in Section 7 of our Rules of Operation (copied below for your convenience), which confirms our commitment to Fair Ice Time for all of our players and what is acceptable at each level of GMHA.
