Hosting the Owen Sound Jr. Attack in
a semi-final game with a ticket to the OMHA championships on the line, the U12A
Gryphons showed up! Scoring on the first shift of the game, the Gryphons took control
early. Owen Sound, however, would not go away, responding with 2 goals and
taking a 2-1 lead into the 2nd.
With a packed house urging them
on, the Gryphons responded with 2 goals in the 2nd and held on the
rest of the way for a 3-2 win, earning a trip to the Tri-County Championships
series and a ticket to the OMHAs in Whitby starting March 29th!
Entering the playoff round robin
sitting 3rd in their pool, the Gryphons have played some team
inspired hockey over the last month! Their playoffs started with 4 straight
wins versus the Stoney Creek Warriors, Orangeville Flyers and two versus the
Oakville Rangers. After a few hiccups against a very competitive Halton Hills Thunder
team, the Gryphons got back into the win column ending round robin play with 2
wins against Owen Sound and another against Orangeville and Stoney Creek. This gave
the Gryphons an 8-2 record and trip straight to the semi-finals...the rest is
history!
The Gryphons would love to thank
all their fans for the support they’ve received this season and especially last
night! West End Rec Center was rocking!!!
Wish us luck the rest of the way,
the season continues!!!
