U15AAA Gryphons take on an 18th Man!
A big part of minor hockey is not only belonging to the local community but also contributing back to the community.  Sometimes the minor hockey community can stretch from town to town, province to province or even in some cases, country to county.  The U15 AAA Junior Gryphons have stretched their hockey community impact to the other side of the world.

Under the 18th Man program, the boys enthusiastically have decided to sponsor Sadala, a 13yr old boy in Uganda, who was born with a club foot.  Over the next month, each player will be working hard to raise money that will go to the team’s goal that will pay for Sadala’s medical procedure to treat his club foot, including physiotherapy and braces to help with his rehab.

The team will keep their 18th man in their thoughts and hopefully, by the end of the season, Sadala will be able to walk-pain free for the first time in his life.

The boys have set their goal a little higher and have decided to raise some extra money to provide some additional support for Sadala’s family or potentially help another child.

Parents and Coaching Staff are proud of how the boys recognized just how fortunate they are and how excited the team is to make such a positive impact to Sadala and his family.

The team will share Sadala’s progress over the coming months.  To learn more about the 18th Man project, please visit one4anotherintl.ca.
