Good afternoon Team 3 parents. Can you get your kids thinking of a team name so that we do not have to call ourselves Team 3 anymore. Black Thunder, or the Thundering Herd or something equally silly.
The kids played an outstanding game today from the goalie on out and I am proud of their efforts. We saw lots of hustle and no quit, and while we seemed to score some easy goals, you still have to get the puck to the net, which the kids did. I was equally impressed with our defensive play, which saw, for the most part, one defenseman properly placed in front of our goalie. Ryan Purves was selected as player of the game for his efforts on defense and will proudly wear the Gold player of the game jersey at our practice on Saturday. All players will be recognized for their effort over the course of the year. For the most part, we played good positional hockey, so good job.
I would like the kids to watch some You Tube videos with regards to defensive zone positioning. We use it to inform the Select kids on proper placement in the defensive zone, not just for defensemen, but for Centers and wingers.
