After winning their OMHA semi-final 7 points to 1 over the Brampton 45's, the Gryphons qualified for the OMHA Championship weekend hosted by York-Simcoe at St Andrews College in Aurora.

This past weekend in Fort Erie, the Minor Midget Gryphons were able to go undefeated in their pool earning a record of 4-0 and a berth in the OMHA semi finals. This marks the third consecutive season the Gryphons have advanced to this round, something no other team in the SCTA has done at this age group. Facing four tough opponents, the team played some of their best hockey of the season.  Seeing contributions from every player on the way to their first 4-0 showing at this event, they out scored their opponents 27-10 over the course of the weekend. The Guelph Gryphons travelled to Brampton Thursday night to play the 45's. With a short bench on the defensive side the Gryphons played a hard game on the back end of a back to back. The powerplay opened the scoring early in the game when Isiah Katsube found Brett Allen at the side of the net who would convert to make it 1-0. Shortly after Logan Morrison would gather a pass from Joe Marra in the neutral zone and step into a slapshot just over the blue line that went post and in and gave the Gryphons a 2-0 lead.

The Gryphons got on the board with their first SCTA league play win against the Niagara North Stars in Guelph on Wednesday night. The first period saw both teams feeling each other out and then Niagara would score near the end of the frame and tilted the ice in their favour. The score would remain 1-0 until later in the second period when Logan Morrison found Jakson Kirk at the side of the net for the tying goal.

The Gryphons travelled to Hamilton last Sunday night for a game against the Bulldogs. The Gryphons had a good start to the game and Jack Harper would convert a Jakson Kirk pass for the first goal of the game to give the Gryphons an early lead. Despite several chances and powerplays the score would remain 1-0 until the second period. 

The Gryphons fell 7-3 to the Oakville Rangers Wednesday night in their home opener. After a 1-1 first that saw a Logan Morrison powerplay goal tie the game on a pass from Jakson Kirk, Oakville would pull away in the second period. Oakville would score 6 times in the second frame to extend their lead going into the third capitalizing on some Gryphons miscues.
