Minor Peewee AA Drop 3-1 Decision To Milton
The Gryphon Minor Peewee AA's traveled to Milton on Thanksgiving Sunday to battle the Winterhawks. Despite a 26-10 advantage in shots, the Gryphons found themselves on the wrong end of a 3-1 score.
Milton got on the scoreboard 6:12 into the first period and carried that one goal lead into the first intermission. A scoreless second period concluded with Milton still holding on to their 1-0 lead.
Milton scored the eventual game winner 7:03 into the third. With 4:17 remaining in the contest at the tail end of a Guelph powerplay, defenseman Nathan Schlitt intercepted a Milton clearing attempt at the Milton blueline and drove a shot on net. Oscar Johnson scooped up the rebound and buried it to close the gap to 2-1 in favour of Milton. However Milton came right back 24 seconds later with an insurance marker to put the game out of reach.
Guelph returns to action this Saturday when they travel to Brampton to take on the 45's.
