Atom AE Double Up Rangers
For the second straight Thursday, the Guelph Gryphons entertained the 1st place team in the league and for the second week, the Gryphons emerged with a victory, this time over the Oakville Rangers by a score of 6-3.

Peter Schlitt got the action started just 59 seconds into the contest when he picked up a loose puck just inside his own zone and went on an end to end rush before zipping a shot from the hash marks past the Ranger goalie for a 1-0 lead.   The Gryphs added a second tally when Nolan Lodder scooted around the net for a wraparound stuff 6:25 into the game.   Then with 1:49 remaining in the opening frame,  Peter Schlitt aggressively pinched to keep the puck in where it bounced to Milan Wilson.  Wilson quickly wheeled and sniped the puck into the top corner and the first period ended with Guelph holding a 3-0 lead.

5:40 into the second, some aggressive forechecking by Connor Laskowski and Kai Stone led to a goalmouth scramble where Nolan Lodder poked in a loose puck for his second of the night.  32 seconds later, continued pressure in the Oakville zone led to Caleb Davison walking out of the corner and depositing his own rebound into the back of the net for a 5-0 lead after two periods.

56 seconds into the third,  Peyton Smith took a pass from Adrian Tersigni and blazed a wrist shot that found mesh to increase the lead to 6-0.   The Rangers refused to quit and a three goal outburst closed the gap in half and made the final 6-3 in favour of the hometown Gryphons.

The Gryphons, now 13-1-1, have grabbed a share of first place and return to action Friday night when they travel to Caledon to take on the Hawks.
