Atom AE Semi Finalists at Guelph Powerplay, News, Atom, 2018-2019, U12 (Guelph Minor Hockey Association)

After finishing first and going undefeated in round robin action,  the Guelph Gryphon Atom AE's were defeated Sunday morning by a score of 6-2 against the Dundas Blues in the semi finals at the Guelph Powerplay tournament.




On this day,  Dundas was the better team right from the drop of the puck as they took an early lead 4:08 into the game and went ahead 2-0 before Peyton Markwood ripped a wrist shot from the top of the circle to cut the lead in half to 2-1 after one period of play.

Guelph looked to be getting the momentum as Caleb Davison (Kai Stone, Oliver Fletcher) tied the score early in the second but three quick Dundas tallies found the Gryphons trailing 5-2 after two periods of play.   Guelph was turned away in the third as they tried to catch up and a late Dundas tally made the final 6-2.

The loss not only eliminated the Gryphons from the tournament but also brought an end to their impressive 22 game unbeaten streak.   Congratulations boys on an impressive run.
