The Guelph Gryphon U16BB's headed to Acton on Monday night came away with a 5-1 victory over the Halton Hill Thunder Red.

The Gryphons got on the board 11:06 into the opening period when Milan Wilson won a puck battle along the wall in the Thunder zone and worked the puck over to Owen McNammee.  McNammee walked in and snapped the puck over the Halton goalie's shoulder to give Guelph a 1-0 lead.   However,  Halton came back to tie the score just 32 seconds later off an odd man rush.  44 seconds after that,  Jackson Byard worked the puck loose for Caleb Davision who walked out of the corner and bulged the twine with a quick snap shot from the slot to give the Gryphons a 2-1 lead after one period of play.

Guelph scored the lone goal of the second period when Sam MacIntyre swatted home his own rebound off a scramble in front of the Halton net.   Ridge Thibodeau and Braeden Bunnaman drew assists on the play.

In the third period,  Guelph extended its lead 4:08 into the period on the power play.  Owen McNammee passed the puck back to defenseman Chace Roffel who directed a drive on net.  Roffel's shot was stopped but Milan Wilson stood all alone in front and tapped the rebound into an open net to make the score 4-1.  Braeden Bunnaman completed the scoring with 2:41 remaining in the contest when he picked up the rebound off of a Sam MacIntyre blast on goal and tucked it into the net.  Ridge Thibadeau also drew an assist on the play.

Marshall Cline picked up the win as the Gryphons outshot the Thunder 40-15.

The Gryphons (13-1-1)  continue their four game road trip Thursday evening  as they return to Halton Hills to take on Thunder White.
