Minor Atom AAA Report - September 17 and 18, 2016
The Minor Atom AAA Gryphs started the 2016-17 regular season this weekend and came away with 2 victories. On saturday in Guelph the Gryphs jumped out to the lead and never looked back, playing a high energy game against the visiting Oakville Rangers. Goals scorers were Landon Mitchell (2), Trenton Harris, Evan VanEykeren and Alex Rossi (EN). Final was 5-2. Kurtis Abbey played well in goal.
On sunday, the Gryphs travelled across the border to face the Buffalo Regals and skated to a 4-2 hard-fought victory. Solid team defense, strong goaltending by Ale Gruosso, and timely goals were the major factors against a chippy Regals squad. Goal scorers were Brady Smith (2), Sam Black, and Alex Rossi (EN).
