Gryphons Start New Year With Big Win
The Bantam Gryphons wasted no time getting into the win column in 2017 with a 4-0 win over 2nd place Southern Tier at home. Liam Nolan opened the scoring in the first period with his linemates Ryan Goetz and Jakson Kirk drawing the assists. After lots of sustained pressure, it took until midway through the second period for the Gryphons to blow the game open.
First Jakson Kirk converted his first of 3 goals on a pass from Caden Bower. Kirk would add a shorthanded marker before the end of the period to give his team a 3-0 lead heading into the intermission. After finishing a penalty kill the Gryphons played an aggressive and smart lock down final period, and Kirk would convert another Bower pass to complete his hat trick and ice the game for the home team. Chris Linton picked up the shutout in net and added an assist himself! Great game Gryphs!
