Challenging Week For The Jr. Gryphons!
The Tyke B Jr. Gryphons played top teams; the Hespeler Shamrocks this past Sunday and the Oakville Rangers last night.

Sunday November 20th, the Jr. Gryphons played the Hespeler Shamrocks losing 5-2 but is was a well played game. In the first, the Shamrocks scored 3 goals early in the period but the Gryphons came back strong when Nicholas Clayton scored late in the period assisted by Cole Gibson and Parker White. The Gryphons held strong in the second period not allowing the Shamrocks to score. In the third Colin Chate scored the Gryphon second goal off a breakaway bringing the game to a one goal deficit. Unfortunately late in the third the Shamrocks scored two goals resulting in a 5-2 loss.

Tuesday November 22nd, the Gryphons played the Oakville Rangers losing 5-3. In the first, the Rangers scored three goals early in the period but it was our strong defense that stood ground keeping the Rangers away from scoring additional goals. The second period was when the Gryphons turned on the heat scoring their first goal from a breakaway by Tyler Kelly. The Gryphons continued to keep the pace going when Colin Chate scored 2 more goals in the second assisted by Ayden Lamorea and Andrew Brown. It was an exciting third period when the Gryphons where able to keep the puck out of their end and passing it up for a number of scoring opportunities including a fantastic breakaway from Parker White and a 2-on-1 breakaway with Jake Annis and Tyler Kelly.

A shout out goes to our defensive lines; Johnathan Berthiaume, Banin Howden, Ayden Lamorea, Royce Lin, Aiden Wamboldt and Parker White as they are showing great improvement with back checking, clearing the zone and keeping the puck in the offensive end. Gryphon goalies; Anderson Mau and Trenton Goode are showing superb improvement with blocking both high and low shots and smothering the puck resulting in less rebound opportunities. The Gryphon forward lines; Jacob Annis, Andrew Brown, Colin Chate, Nicholas Clayton, Cole Gibson, Tyler Kelly, Austyn Lamorea, Avery Smith and Nash Willsie are all showing impressive improvement with passing, carrying the puck up the boards, increasing number of shots on net and intercepting opposition passes resulting in a number breakaways.

WAY TO GO GRYPHONS!!! We are all so proud of your accomplishments!
