The Tyke A Jr. Gryphons took on the first place
Halton Hills Thunder in a home-and-home series this past weekend.
On Saturday, the Gryphons turned in a disappointing performance, dropping a 6 – 1 decision. Nicco S. was the lone goal scorer for the Tykes in a game where the Gryphons struggled to generate any sustained offensive pressure.
However, Saturday’s Gryphons were nowhere to be seen on Sunday, as they battled the same Halton team to a 2 – 2 tie. This impressive team effort was noteworthy on account of some impressive passing by Lucas S, Luca R, Nate M and Tyson D. Other notable performances were put forth by Wyatt M. Evan P. and Greg F. whose stellar defence provided the Gryphons with a calming presence in their own zone. Goal scorers on the day were Nicco S. and Sawyer S, while Tyson M.B. and Finn P. were fantastic in the Gryphon net.
With the weekend’s results, the Gryphons find themselves in a tie for fifth place in the TCMHL with a 3 – 8 – 5 record. The Gryphons will wrap up their regular season this week with games against Oakville and Burlington.
