Gryphons completed another busy weekend of hockey with games against Garden
City and Burlington.
On Saturday, the Garden City Falcons travelled to Guelph for a date with their Tri-County rivals. The Falcons jumped out of the gates quickly and never looked back as they earned a decisive 7 – 0 victory.
Despite the lopsided score, there were some strong performances from the Gryphons. Specifically, Gage T and Sawyer S who showed great perseverance in trying to slow down the Falcon rush.
On Sunday the Gryphons rebounded against the Burlington Eagles. The relentless Gryphon forecheck wore down the Eagle defense, and the Gryphons prevailed with a 4 – 1 decision. Luca R, Auguste T, Nicco S and Gage T provided the Gryphon goal scoring while Evan P and Jax S impressed with some stellar passing and puck movement. Alex C and Lucas S buzzed the Eagle net all afternoon while Nate M, Greg F and Jamie N played a strong and physical game in their own zone.
The Gryphons are currently in 3rd place in the Tyke 1 playoff pool and will continue their playoff schedule next weekend with games against Oakville and Burlington.
