Minor Atom AE Drop 4, Game 5 Set For Saturday
The Gryphon Minor Atom AE's headed down to Oakville on Thursday night with a chance to clinch a spot in the OMHA Finals with a victory.  However a determined Ranger squad had other plans and dumped the Gryphons 4-1 to force a deciding Game 5 on Saturday afternoon.

Both teams came out hard but it was Oakville that drew first blood as they poked in a partially covered puck 4:34 into the contest.   The score stood 1-0 after one period of play.

The Rangers struck twice more in the second.  First on a breakaway 1:57 into the period and again with 5:34 left in the middle frame on a hard wrist shot.  The score was 3-0 in favour of the Rangers at the second intermission.

With 9:10 left in the third,  Oakville struck again to make the score 4-0.  Guelph got on the board 1:12 later when Matthew Mainprize ripped a wrist shot from the faceoff circle on an unassisted effort.   That would be all the scoring and the final score was 4-1 in favour of Oakville.

With the series now tied at two games apiece, Guelph will host Game 5 on Saturday afternoon with the winning team advancing to the OMHA Finals to face the Barrie Colts.   Game time is 3:30 at West End.
