The Guelph Gryphon Minor Atom AE's headed to Orangeville for Game 7 of the OMHA Qualifying Round Robin on Sunday afternoon and kept up their strong play with a 4-1 victory over the Orangeville Flyers.

Guelph got on the board with 2:45 remaining in the first period.  Defensemen Kai McCoubrey pinched hard at the Flyer blueline and directed the puck on net where it was received by Peyton Markwood.  Markwood flipped the puck in front to a waiting Caleb Davison who backhanded it home to put the Gryphies up 1-0.  Just 55 seconds later,  defenseman George Dutrizac made a tape to tape pass cross ice in the neutral zone to winger Adrian Tersigni who walked into the Flyer zone and ripped a wrist shot that ruffled the twine.  The Gryphon took a 2-0 lead into the first intermission.

1:30 into the second period, Connor Laskowski worked the puck back to Liam Conlon who blasted a shot on net.  The shot was stopped but Laskowski jumped all over the rebound and snapped it home for a 3-0 lead. Orangeville cut the lead to 3-1 on the powerplay 4:39 into the period but 2:26 later,  Chase Roffel ripped a shot from the slot to restore the three goal lead.   Connor Laskowski and McKenna Petti drew assists on the play.  The score was 4-1 after two periods of play and a scoreless third period insured a  Guelph victory.

The Gryphons (7-0-0) complete their round robin schedule this Thursday when they travel to Elmira to battle the Woolwich Wildcats.
